Sony is officially the first manufacturer to release an Android 7.1.1 update for its devices other than Google… technically.
Sony has released the 7.1.1 update for the Xperia X. The catch is that the update is available through the experimental track of the Sony Concept program, which is basically a “beta” program for Sony users to use the latest software the company has to offer. The update isn’t rolling out to all Xperia X owners just yet.
Other changes include a restart option in the power menu, Playstation 4 PS4 remote play support, faster camera start up, and the December security patch.
It’s great to see Sony pushing the latest software so quickly, even if it’s not for everyone. Let us know if you get it!
