Again Google Cast is now Chromecast

Google which earlier this month had renamed its Google Cast app to Google Home, has now once again renamed its Google cast technology to be called as Chromecast.

The company has already renamed @GoogleCast Twitter account  to @Chromecast. Also the Google cast website now writes Google cast enabled as Chromecast built-in. This means that now instead of describing any device as being Google cast enabled, we say that it has Chromecast built-in.

Google cast is basically the technology that allows you to cast media through a compatible device called Chromecast. The technology was launched in 2013. The company earlier this year had renamed the Chromecast app to  Google cast app.

Google launched its Chromecast 2 in India earlier this year. The first Chromecast was launched in 2015. The device is powered by a Marvell Armada 1500-mini system on chip (SoC). It has a 2GB of flash memory and 512MB RAM. The device works with iOS, Android, Windows, and OS X. In the case of Android devices, it only supports devices running version newer than 4.4.2 KitKat.
