Samsung Introduces the Galaxy A8(2018) and A8+(2018) launched with Dual Front Cameras and Large Infinity Display
Samsung officially announced the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018), two brand new smartphones that adopt the Infinity Display design to minimize those bezels while shoving in a pair of cameras up front just to show off.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) features a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 (just like the Galaxy S8) and a resolution of 2220×1080. Under the hood there is an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB built-in storage, a 3000mAh battery, NFC, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) boasts a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with the same aspect ratio and resolution as the A8. It also has the same processor, but it will offer 4GB/6GB RAM, 32GB/64GB built-in storage, a microSD card slot, and a 3500mAh battery.
As for the standard features shared by the two devices, you’ll find a pair of front-facing cameras on both, one being a 16-megapixel shooter with a f/1.9 aperture, and the other being an 8-megapixel camera. Both phones also have a single 16-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7 and phase detection autofocus.
Rounding out the features list is Samsung Pay, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, USB Type-C for charging, and a fingerprint reader that’s on the back, but placed below the camera and not on the side of it, thankfully.
Samsung has confirmed that both the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) will launch sometime in early January 2018, but no exact date has been provided. There’s no word on pricing just yet, either.
