Huawei Nova 2s announced with Dual front and back camera

It was just yesterday that we got our first look at the rumored Nova 2s from Huawei, and now the new smartphone has been made officially official.

Revealed at an event today, the Huawei Nova 2s is now the real deal and it lines up with the majority of rumors that we’d heard about it. That includes a 6-inch display with a Full HD (2160×1080) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels have been minimized, as one might expect in a smartphone launched in 2017, and there is a home button underneath the screen that also serves as a fingerprint reader.

The main selling point for the Nova 2s might be the pair of front-facing cameras above the display. One is a 20MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, while the other is a 2MP camera. There is an LED flash up front, too. There are a pair of cameras on the back, as the rumors had hinted at, with one being a 20MP monochrome shooter and the other a 16MP color camera.

Under the hood, Nova 2s owners will take advantage of a Kirin 960 processor, models that come with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and the ability to choose between 64GB of 128GB of built-in storage. The battery measures in at 3340mAh, There’s a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The new Huawei-branded smartphone will start at 2699 yuan, or about $400, and it will be available in Rose Gold, Red, Black, Grey, and Blue.
