Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 new leaks renders shows off Dual Rear Camera

It’s safe to say that while Samsung may still face some criticism for last year’s Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the company has done what it can to move on and try to regain whatever ground it lost. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ went a long way to help with that.

Now Samsung is rumored to be moving ahead with the Galaxy Note phablet lineup with the Galaxy Note 8. The latest reports suggest we may see it revealed sometime in September and that it will have a pair of 12-megapixel cameras on its back, which isn’t too surprising.

Thanks to serial leaker @OnLeaks and 91mobiles, we’ve got a first look at what is believed to be CAD renders for the upcoming Galaxy Note 8. The handset will reportedly measure in at 162.4 x 74.5 x 8.4mm (compared to the Galaxy Note 7′s 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm dimensions), so it’ll be a bit bigger than last year’s phablet. It also appears that there will be a camera bump on the back, which will surely not go unnoticed if it turns out to be the real deal.

The renders also reveal that the Galaxy Note 8 will keep the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom and that there will be a sizable bezel up at the top of the display. The bottom of the handset will apparently aim to minimize the bezel, though, similar to the Galaxy S8. The edges of the display will be rounded, too, but apparently not as much as what’s present on the Galaxy S8.

Samsung is apparently also sticking with the rear placement of the fingerprint reader, right next to the camera.

As far as the other specs go, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 processor under the hood. It’ll likely have 6GB of RAM and a battery that measures in at 3300mAh. As mentioned above, the dual cameras on the back are both said to be 12MP shooters.

The new report also states the Galaxy Note 8 will feature DeX support, the ability to pin notes on the Always-On Display similar to the Galaxy S8, and split-screen multitasking. Along with the black model shown off in the images, there will also be blue and gold models to choose from.
