In late February, Google confirmed that it was rolling out Google Assistant to Android Marshmallow and Android Nougat phones, broadening Assistant’s availability.
However, at the time, Google pointed out that the new feature was arriving on smartphones, “Android phones,” and “Android partner phones,” with no mention of tablets in the mix. So, Android Police reached out to Google to try and get some clarity on the situation.
Google reiterated that Assistant would arrive on phones with Android Marshmallow and Android Nougat, but that that rollout “did not include tablets.” Unfortunately, the company was not willing to provide any additional information beyond that, so whether or not tablets will ever get Assistant remains up in the air at this point.
Still, it would seem strange to block out tablets entirely. What do you think ?
