Samsung is planning to merge Galaxy Note with Galaxy S plus series

Samsung is considering a plan that would merge the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S Plus lines into one high-end smartphone line. The two lines have featured overlapping specs for quite some time, and the company is looking for ways to stop the lines from cannibalizing each other’s sales. With the similarities, the best option is to merge the lines into one.

The major difference between Galaxy S Plus devices and Galaxy Note devices is the S Pen, which is exclusive to the Note line. Size used to be a major differentiator, but that has become less of a difference in recent times as both device’s displays are within .1-inches of one another.

The merger would not only reduce competition between the two different lines, but would reduce costs within Samsung. Additionally, it would open up a space for Samsung to create a new flagship line of foldable smartphones, as has been rumored.

The decision to merge the lines will be made after the launch of the Galaxy Note 9, so stay tuned for further news after that point.

In the meantime, what do you think about the possibility of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S Plus lines merging? Is this a good idea or a bad idea? Let us know in the comments!
