Nokia 7 now official with 6 GB Ram and Snapdragon 630

Today Nokia and HMD Global made the Nokia 7 official. Nokia is definitely going all-in with the Android platform, having already released a handful of devices. But there’s always room for one more.

Today Nokia and HMD Global made the Nokia 7 official. It’s a mid-range handset with a few standout features like a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, up to 6GB of RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor under the hood. It has 64GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, and a battery that measures in at 3000mAh.

Around back there’s a 16MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, an f/1.8 aperture, and dual tone flash. The front-facing camera is a 5MP shooter with than aperture of f/2.0 and an 84-degree field of view. Nokia is including the “Bothie” feature here, too, which means Nokia 7 owners will be able to use both cameras at the same time to take a selfie and a photo of what’s in front of them at the same time.

The Nokia 7 also has a fingerprint reader on the back, a USB Type-C port for charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. HMD Global has confirmed that the Nokia 7 can be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo.

Nokia and HMD Global’s new Android phone is going to debut in China, priced at ¥2,499 ($377) for the model with 4GB of RAM and ¥2,699 ($407) for the 6GB variant. Neither company has said if the Nokia 7 is going to see the light of day outside of China, unfortunately.

If the Nokia 7 does launch in your neck of the woods, will you consider picking one up?
